Classic Puds & Desserts Cooking Class

This day of 'sticky floury fun' is based around the classic ingredients of pastry cookery such as chocolate, seasonal fruits, caramel and freshly churned ice cream. Also learn the skills of making classic pastry dough’s such as 'my cheats puff pastry'.

The Technical Bit

The course starts with learning all about types of flour & butter, then the correct sugars to use and how chocolate works in dessert cookery. You will also learn how to make a perfect sponge that will rise every time, along with the most amazing seasonal fruit flavoured ices.

Oh, Look at that! That’s Amazing

As the day unfolds you will see desserts appearing before your eyes you never thought possible to make. Plates such as tart of crisp thin puff pastry with crème patisserie, sugar crusted apple or profiteroles filled with fresh vanilla ice cream and served with hot chocolate sauce. How about amazing meringues with hazelnut & coco or lightly steamed sticky date pudding with butter scotch sauce.

As on all of Smashing Pans cookery courses you will pick up valuable tips and information on many technical aspects of cookery. Keith will make this easy to understand and you can then use these methods every time you make desserts and puddings in the future.
